KIDS (ft. Mavrick)
My first paid gig in the games industry was the development of a promotional browser game for music artist Mavrick (and his label Jubel AB).​
The special server that hosted the game for the duration of the promotional period of the song and game is no longer active, but the same domain still points to the game, now hosted on itch.io. It's playable in browsers on desktops and most mobile and touch devices. Est. Play time is ~5 min.

Samuel Modig handled the art and animation, Christopher Peduru Aratchii delivered the sound effects and the music was provided by Mavrick.

My role in this project was essentially doing everything else, such as e.g. game design, level design, visual scripting and setting up a server for hosting the game.

The entire project duration from initial briefing to delivery lasted for ~2-3 months. The game was developed in Construct 2.



The client provided a high-level briefing over the phone and based on that I quickly produced some game concept mockups that I brought to our first meeting (See the GIF below). These made it easier to narrow down what they were looking for, while also showcasing my proposals and suggestions.

Mavrick had a particular narrative and theme in mind to go along with the message of the music track that the game was promoting so we made sure to have regular check-ins along the way to ensure that we stayed aligned and in sync.
